A son of the native prairie--raised on a corn, soybean and cattle ranch in northern Iowa-- Pat Shey is an Iowan to his core.
Pat is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the DePaul University College of Law. He has served as a legislative advisor to U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, a lawyer, a state prosecutor, and a banker. In 1999, he was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives, and served two terms. In 2005, Pat was elected as an At Large member of the Cedar Rapids City Council.
Pat is married to Nancy Gallup Shey, a native of Orchard Park, NY. Together they have three kids, Jack, Abby & Caroline.
Pat bleeds black-and-gold on fall weekends, and enjoys dorking around with his family, skiing, fly fishing, pheasant hunting and reading biographies.
